At Dib`s house Dib is telling Gaz about his findings and for once Gaz seemed interested
Dib: "it`s amazing I mean I would have never guessed Zim had a full name, or a family but the weirdest part is he didn't grow up on Irk "
Gaz: "we have different countries, maybe it's like that"
Dib: "good point I wonder what Nihon is like"
Gaz: "why don't you go over and ask"
Dib: "no I couldn't do that I've already asked him a lot about his personal life already today I'm going to wait awhile to ask anything else, but you know what`s weird, when he was talking about his dad he seemed sad almost troubled, I wonder what exactly happened between them."
Gaz: "well if you're so worried go and check up on him"
Dib: "what am I his big brother I don't really want to check up on him besides he`s been acting really different lately more, nice to everyone and his contacts are more soft and big looking not to mention light bluer"
Gaz: "more like girly to me, but too answer your question it`s because his brainwashing wore off" Dib looked very surprised and shocked
Gaz: "you see if a smeet isn`t military material the tallest brainwash them I guess because he`s not part of the military anymore they turned it off his true personality should come though within a couple of weeks"
Dib: "how do you know all of this?"
Gaz: "Tak" it made sense, they were best friends it wasn`t unusual for Gaz to know a lot about the personal lives of Irkens, sometimes Dib worried if his sister knew about his own girlfriend [Tak]than he did. It was true, Zim wasn`t part of the military anymore, he was stuck on earth forever in a way Dib kind of felt bad for Zim, he could never return to his family but he wondered if someday he could bring Zim`s family here, but it was just a passing thought to Dib, he wasn`t really good with people, not to mention Irkens. In a way Zim was like a little brother so he decided to suck it up and check up on the little guy.

At Zim`s house Dib was in the living room looking for him but all he found was a squealing GIR
Dib: "hay GIR do you know where Zim is?" GIR stood there quite for a second
GIR: "mast `a is in his room come on I show ya where it`s at" GIR walks to the kitchen and goes over to the far wall near the oven were a green/blue paper door and slides it opened to reveal a stairwell and he points up to it. Dib walks up to the end of the stairs to a hallway with a couple of doors one of them had a wooden plaque with じみ on it and on the top what looked like a wooding carving of a cat head Dib had no idea what the writing meant but he figured a room that's labeled has to be worth going into so he opened the door to find a bedroom, behind another door he heard a shower head running which Dib figured Zim was taking a shower so he decided to look around.
Dib: 'wow Zim`s room is surprisingly normal, in fact it kind of looks childish, I wonder how old Zim is… hold on what`s this' Dib found a photo album on his dresser decided to look through it, 'I know it`s technically snooping but as long as I close it when I hear the shower stop I'm fine' so Dib looked though it on the first page was his birth certificate 'huh so his middle name`s Kyoko same as his mother, well that`s not too bad, I mean I've heard worse ' he looks though a few other pages Dib was surprised Zim must come from a big family there was someone different almost every picture. Dib heard the shower head stop and he left the room quickly but he idiotically left the book opened and hid behind the hallway wall. Zim came out in nothing but underwear, which revealed a little more of Zim's legs than he wanted to see, which made Dib a little uncomfortable but it didn`t last long because he quickly put pajama pants on as though he knew he was being watched, Dib checked his watch wow he really shouldn`t have come to his house at 11:00 on a school night but eh whatever, he decided to stand in the doorway
Dib: "hey Zim" he turned around and screamed
Zim: "Dib, how long have you been here?"
Dib: "couple minutes… (Awkward) I like your room and the door sign even though I can`t read it"
Zim: "um thanks, and that's my name in Nihonese [it`s really Japanese, I'm such a cheater] by the way "
Dib: "what`s with the cat?"
Zim: "oh well, you know how China has the zodiac, well we have that too and I'm born in the year of the cat, even though you guys don`t have a cat in your zodiac which really sucks." He laughed that Zim said sucked this planet`s vocab was rubbing of on him
Dib: "so how many years ago was that?" he half expected Zim to answer 100 and something
Zim: "12, I'm 12"
Dib: "oh okay…wait WHAT! You mean this whole time you were younger than me seriously I've been fighting someone 2 years younger than me and this whole time I thought you were way older, and what about that whole I've been flying ships before you were born thing huh? "
Zim: "calm down it's not that big of a difference and that was just something to make you scared" Zim turned to get a shirt from his dresser a noticed his album was opened and looked suspiciously at the person sitting on his bed
Zim: "Dib, what`s my smeet album doing opened?" Dib winced at those words even though they said in a sweet tone
Dib: "okay I looked at a few pages and by the way I like the name Kyoko, I've heard worse middle names than that" Zim came over with the book with a purple knight shirt and the sleeves were kind of fluffy (like Mabel's knight gown on "Gravity Falls" and if you haven`t seen that show watch it it`s like Invader Zim a little bit)
Zim: "if you wanted to look at it you could have asked after I got out" he sat down with Dib and started to look at it there were a lot of pictures and Zim explained who was with in every one, Dib had to admit he had a HUGE family most of them cousins
Dib: hay Zim what happened between you and your dad"
Zim: "he um, he…" Zim couldn`t bear to finish
Dib: "he`s not alive it he"
Zim: "oh no he alive alright he`s just not with the family"
Dib: "he left?"
Zim: "right after my mom died, I was only 8, he quite the family, so I quite piano that`s why you never heard me play before, and right when I got use to everything I got drafted into the military" he stated sniffing though Dib didn`t know how because he didn't have a nose, Zim stated to tear up, Dib put his arm around the Irken, though he didn't expect Zim to have such a tough life or give him a death hug and start balling his eyes out, but that's what he did.
Dib: 'no wonder the tallest had to brainwash him, with all the tragedies in his life he must have been so weak when he first started, he kind of still is, but that`s okay isn't it? Weakness is a part of life they shouldn`t just change some ones personality just because they don't like who they are if they didn`t like how weak he was they shouldn`t have drafted him in the first place, and in Zim`s case brainwashing wasn`t much of an improvement.' Dib kept comforting Zim until he was asleep he put Zim under the covers. Dib yawned he was tired and he didn`t feel like walking two blocks to his house, so he just took off his shoes and trench coat and got under the covers with Zim.
Dib: "goodnight little brother"

The sun was shining lightly on Zim's face when he started to wake up to his alarm clock song of "Yellow" by Miku Hatsune he turned it off quickly and sat up strait rubbed the sleep dust from his eyes and yawned as he finished he smelled something cooking down stairs it didn`t smell like the usual waffles he was use to waking up to it smelled different, he got out of his bed and went down stairs to the kitchen he opened the door to see Dib finishing up some eggs.
Dib: "oh hay Zim"
Zim: "hay, um Dib what did you come here last night for"
Dib: "um well you seemed so upset when you mentioned your dad, guess now I know why"
Zim: "well I'm going to get ready for school, you need anything?"
Dib: "nah, once I'm done with breakfast I'm heading out I still got two more days of detention, which Miss. Bitter had to put before school." Zim chuckled and headed back upstairs to get dressed

At school Zim was at his locker getting his books for the next couple of class periods
Gaz: "hey Zim" he was startled from her sudden appearance and turned around
Zim: "what is with you and coming out of no wear?" she just shrugged at the question
Gaz: "what happened to the hoodie?"
Zim: "oh, that was just because my uniform shirt was dirty"
Gaz: "you should keep wearing it you look cuter that way" he blushed
Zim: "wait you said cuter, which would imply cuter than normal, which means *happy gasp* you think I'm cute!!!" Gaz blushed slightly
Gaz: "no I don't why would I think a freak like you would be cute"
Zim: "than why`d you blush when I said that?" (A trick he learn from Dib) Zim smiled
Gaz: "okay I don't know why, but when I kissed you, I kind of liked it does that mean I like you"
Zim: "um, yes" she blushed harder; she looked up at him with glittering hazel eyes then the loud ring of the school bell ruined the moment and Gaz walked off to class, Zim just smiled and saw Dib standing there with a proud look on his face
Zim: "ya know Dib I've relished something,
Dib: "yah and what`s that?"
Zim: "I shouldn't give up on my talent just because of one person`s stupid diction, besides" he looks over at Gaz and back at Dib and smiles "I have a new reason for playing."
